History

The Canberra Men’s Choir Inc was established in 1986. The choir has a current membership of about 35 and members range in age from 30 onwards.

The repertoire incorporates unison singing through to four part songs and solos. The songs include folk, sacred, musicals, classical and operetta; sung in French, German and Welsh as well as English.

The choir is privileged to have been given permission by the ACT Government to display the Canberra coat of arms.
Since its inception, the choir has participated in a wide variety of concerts and musical venues.

Regular performances include the St David’s Welsh Day concert and the Floriade celebrations. The choir sings annually at the War Memorial at the Sandakan Remembrance Ceremony and Anzac Dawn Service. The choir has sung on local and ABC Radio.

The choir’s ongoing social commitment to the Canberra community is reflected in its performances throughout the year at hospitals and nursing homes.
