Editorial

Yes, it's a different photo this time. It was taken by Peter H after a coffee and chat meeting. So we really don't just talk, eat and drink.

This month's issue has largely been cobbled together by me reading messages from newsgroups. Much is about freeware, and a lot is about my favourite application: PSP. I'm sure you know what that stands for.

I've also written short comments on an alternative free software firewall from the Ashampoo. Their name turned me off a bit when I first read it in magazines. Seeing they gave me a free firewall I thought I'd use something else they produce instead of Picasa 2: Ashampoo Photo Commander. The comments page is on this link.

There's a free jpg calendar that was produced by a PSP script that prints portrait on an A4 sheet. Tip: fit it to the printed page. Then rotate the printed sheet 45 degrees.

When reading the magazine you might discover that the gif format has been released from copyright restrictions.

But much more than that, have a look here re Antivirus freeware.

Before I forget, we desperately need writers to write for the magazine. I've put a list of dates for monthly meetings for 2007 next.
