Where: Cameron Grant Community Centre, Conference Room, 27 Mulley Street Holder (in the same premises as the PCUG Centre). Topic: PCUG member, Basil McMillan, will demonstrate a mini-workshop using Audacity Software, which he uses to digitise his record collection. Also, President Ann Byrne will give an outline of PCUG training aims, with an appeal for assistance to make these aims a reality in support of the true spirit of “Users Helping Users”. Basil's workshop is an example of what the PCUG has been calling for to make better use of our training facilities. MMM Flyer (.pdf download) with full details: http://www.pcug.org.au/activities/mmm/2008-03-11/MMMNotice200803.pdf All welcome. 2. PCUG TRAINING: The PCUG Committee is seeking more volunteers to assist with Training Coordination and Training Delivery. Training Coordinator: This is mainly a liasion role between trainers and other PCUG support volunteers, to coordinate a successful training session or workshop. Teaching is *not* a prerequisite of the role. Experience has shown that this position would not require a great deal of time and effort. Tasks include to seek out trainers, and work with the trainer to: - oversee the booking of the training room or media room, in consultation with the office manager; - promote the training session in consultation with the newsletter editor and web coordinator; - coordinate access needs to the PCUG centre; - liaise any special requirements with technical support; and - report to the PCUG committee. Training Delivery: We are also looking for more trainers. Please bear in mind that most of the members are seeking basic tuition (For example: how to use word, email, attachments to email and general use of the Internet). Members are also enquiring after more specific sessions such as multimedia. Training may be day or evening, weekday or weekend, a single workshop, or span several sessions. If you are interested in helping out with any of the above training needs, please email pcug@pcug.org.au. -- Ann Byrne President PCUG president@pcug.org.au _______________________________________________ PCUG-members mailing list
