2. PROFESSIONAL AND RELATED EXPERIENCE

I am currently retired.

I am open to considering offers of short or long term paid or voluntary work, in Australia or overseas, which utilise my training and experience.

I have held a number of positions relating to such areas as analysis, information technology, research, program evaluation, adult training, and general public administration.

Previous positions I have held have included:
* Assistant Director (with an information technology focus) in a Federal Department;
* Principal Research Officer (Evaluation) in a Federal Department;
* Director, Training and Manpower Development in a Federal statutory authority; and
* Head, Research and Planning Unit, in a College of Advanced Education.

I have also held a number of other positions involved in editorial work, policy analysis, and teaching.

3. ACADEMIC AND RELATED QUALIFICATIONS

I have completed a Master of Education from Melbourne University (with an emphasis on Educational Administration and Policy - I received Second Class Honours [Division A] for a minor thesis dealing with computer networks and organisational structures and strategies), a Graduate Diploma in Data Processing (with an emphasis on Systems Analysis)from Chisholm Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Education, Diploma of Education, and Bachelor of Economics from Monash University (with majors in Economics and Accounting and Distinctions in Business Finance and Management Accounting). I completed my Higher School Certificate at Haileybury College in Keysborough, Victoria.

4. KEY CONFERENCES AND PUBLICATIONS

I have contributed to a range of national and international conferences and journals on themes related to human resources development, innovation, long range planning, program evaluation and technological change. Examples include:

Presented a paper on "The relevance of imaging in government" at a National Conference on Imaging and Workflow in Government (Sydney, NSW).

Presented a paper on "The Future of the Passenger Card Project" at a workshop on Handprint Character Recognition (University of Queensland).

Presented a paper on "Evaluation in the Australian Public Service - Organisational behavioural and phenomenological perspectives" and chaired a session on "Management Education" at a National Evaluation Conference (Sydney, NSW).

"Higher Education Futures: Organisational planning and organisational technology perspectives". ED288450. Presented via satellite at a conference hosted by the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute (Zurich, Switzerland) and subsequently published by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Higher Education, George Washington University, Washington, D.C., USA.

"The Network Nation: The relevance of this for possible educational and general public administrative structures and strategies in the 1980's and 90's". ED247936. Master of Education Minor thesis. Presented at the Silver Jubilee Conference of the Australian College of Education and subsequently published by the ERIC Clearinghouse on Information Resources, Syracuse University, New York, USA (ED247936).

Contributed an invitational paper on "Future directions of societies and educational systems" to a regional seminar of the Asian Programme of Educational Innovation for Development (a UNESCO affiliate) (Bangkok, Thailand).

I have also published articles in such journals as Education News, International Journal of Mathematics Education in Science and Technology, Educational Technology, and Training and Development in Australia.
