SNOWGUMS

Eucalypt trees grow all over Australia and come in all shapes and sizes. One of the toughest and most amazing of these is the Snowgum, which grows on the higher areas of the Australian Alps up to the treeline. At lower altitudes these trees can be tall with straight trunks, but at the highest altitudes the trees are smaller and are usually twisted into fantastic shapes by the wind and elements. The bark can be very colourful, especially after rain, and in winter the trees can be covered in large amounts of snow and ice.
