I am nominating for Vice-President on next years Committee as part of John Saxon's "Like-Minded Souls" team. My professional background is in Unix system administration and network security, and I currently work as a software development manager.
I have been a member of the PCUG since 1991, and have been involved with TIP as a system administrator since 1995, and previously served on the Internet Project Management Committee.
PCUG membership numbers as whole, and our Internet subscriber numbers, are continuing to decline, largely because the value-for-money benefits of membership have been lost in recent years, and the charges for our Internet services are currently uncompetitive.
I believe that under a new Committee, this can be changed, and with other members of the "Like-Minded Souls" team, we can revitalise TIP and PCUG as a whole, reinvigorate the Group motto of "Users Helping Users" and work towards providing better value for money and further benefits for our members.
