Volunteers Required

We are seeking more volunteers to assist with maintenance of the PC network at PCUG Centre.

Those interested will need to have some experience in one or more of the following fields:

Prospective volunteers should note that the Centre is in Holder (Weston Creek) and that virtually all work must be done on site.
Those interested are invited to contact the Technical Manager:

Planned Outage

The Centre is now operational for use by members.  The two Multi-Media PCs have also been set to work recently, but will not have Internet access in the short term.  That won't be a limitation for typical use of those PCs.

We will probably soon need to close the Centre to general use by members whilst new network cabling is installed.  However, we will endeavour to keep the Office operating for enquiries and renewals, as has been done during all the renovations.  The "outage" will be for about a week and will probably be advised by email.

Unplanned Outages

We have experienced several unplanned power outages at the Centre recently, following a substantial re-arrangement of electrical circuits by the owner of the building.  The causes have been investigated from our end and we hope that some rearrangement of equipment and changes to procedures will eliminate the problem.

Members are advised to make payments for renewals in advance of due date because some payments cannot be processed during a power outage.
