These last three throws are all progressive improvements on both the "locals" and "all-comers" Australian Records which Athletics Australia has listed as a 5.92m effort by him on 31/3/96 in Sydney.
Jamie's personal best throw in training is 7.44m (48% of the World Record) achieved on 4/3/97. The C3 World Record with the 1kg discus stands at 16.12m as set by P. Cassin of Ireland in Seoul on 22/10/88.

James claimed both the Australian "locals" and "all comers" Australian Records with his throw in Canberra and the August and November throws in Sydney both improve on that distance.
James throwing the javelin at Homebush, NSW.
Jamie's personal best throw in training with the 600g javelin is 7.18m (55% of the World Record) achieved on 28/9/97. The World Record distance for C3s is the 13.10m thrown by M. Costello of Ireland in Nottingham on 28/7/1989.
100m (wheelchair)
- SECOND at the May 1995 NSWSCD Seasonal Meet with a time of 48.3 seconds
- FIRST at the August 1995 NSWSCD Seasonal Meet with a time of 48.1 seconds
- SILVER medal at the November 1995 Multi Disability Championships in Sydney with a time of 47.36 seconds
- GOLD medal at the 1996 NSW State Athletics Championships in Sydney with a time of 49.94 seconds. I don't understand how I could have been first when the World Record holder was competing against me (although in a different heat)
- FIRST at the June 1997 NSWSCD Seasonal Meet with a time of 1 minute 30 seconds :-( (with chair setup and tracking problems), and
- FIRST at the August 1997 NSWSCD Seasonal Meet with a time of 1 minute 04.6 seconds (in his standard wheelchair).
My personal best time for the 100 metres is only 47.36 seconds ('cause I find it very hard to keep on track).
The World and both Australian Records for the C3 100 metres wheelchair race is the 19.55 seconds set on 24/3/96 in Sydney by LACHLAN JONES (who also took the Gold Medal at the Atlanta Paralympics).
