PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE FOR WINDOWS PCS with Mike Boesen.

Mike Boesen gave a presentation about essential, desirable and optional preventative maintenance that he regards as being needed to keep a Windows PC in a healthy condition. The presentation was geared to the needs of PC users of all levels, ranging from beginners to technically advanced. The coverage was broad, including basic hardware maintenance, preventing and detecting intrusion of malware, maintaining Windows system files and applications in good condition, preventing and fixing unauthorised modification of startup applications and implementation of a backup and recovery strategy. While the focus was on non-networked, stand-alone desktop PCs with an XP operating system, the content was also relevant to networked PCs, those with other Windows operating systems, and laptops.
